MELVILLE HERMAN

✱ The Note

Herman Melville was an American novelist, short-story writer and poet whose experiences at sea shaped much of his fiction. His works include Moby-Dick, Typee, Billy Budd and Bartleby, the Scrivener. His writing turns adventure and everyday labour into searching questions about obsession, authority, isolation and the limits of knowledge.
