Cookie Policy

This policy explains how Voracious Club uses cookies and similar storage technologies on the storefront.

Some cookies are needed to make the shop work. Analytics cookies are optional and are only loaded if you accept them.

Control panel

You can change your cookie choice on this page at any time. Necessary cookies stay on because the bag, checkout, account, and security features need them.

1. Necessary cookies

We use necessary cookies and similar storage to keep core shop features working. These include bag identifiers, login/session cookies, region and locale choices, security-related cookies, and the cookie that remembers your consent choice.

These are used because they are needed to provide the online shop service you request. Without them, the bag, checkout, account, and region routing may not work properly.

2. Analytics cookies

If you choose "Accept analytics too", we load Google Analytics using measurement ID G-M6HH2RPELC. Google Analytics helps us understand which pages people use, where the storefront gets stuck, and which listings are performing.

When Enhanced Measurement is enabled, Google Analytics can automatically measure page views, scrolls, outbound link clicks, site searches, video engagement, downloads and form interactions. Depending on the event, this can include page and destination URLs, link text, search terms, video details and form identifiers. We also measure shopping events such as bag additions. These measurements run only with your analytics consent; advertising features remain disabled.

Analytics cookies are not essential. If you choose "Only necessary", Google Analytics is not loaded and existing Google Analytics cookies are cleared where the browser allows it.

3. Similar technologies & Local Storage

The same rules apply to technologies such as local storage, tracking pixels, scripts, and tags when they store information on your device or access information from it.

We use browser storage for the following functions on the storefront:

  • Cookie consent (vc_cookie_consent): Remembers your choice, the date you chose, the policy version and an expiry date for up to one year, alongside a consent cookie. We ask again when that choice expires or the consent policy version changes. Older choices without this information also require a fresh choice.
  • Personalised shelves (vc_personalisation_consent): Optional, off by default and separate from analytics. Enable For You or Enable personalised shelves records your choice and expiry for up to 90 days. Turn off personalisation below to clear local reading history and shelf preferences. Account orders and saved favourites are kept separately.
  • On-device reading taste (vc_reader_taste): With personalisation consent, locally notes the authors and literary themes of books you inspect, like, or add to your bag. We retain up to 24 interactions for up to 90 days to tailor the "For You" shelf. Joining the club only copies this history to your account if you select the separate, unchecked signup option. The saved copy can be removed in Account → Reading preferences.
  • Recommendation preferences (vc_recommendation_preferences): Remembers up to three chosen interests, whether to include owned editions, and up to 100 individually hidden listings for 90 days. Use Undo after hiding a book or Reset reading taste to clear these choices.
  • Consented recommendation measurement: If you accept analytics, local storage remembers a recommendation comparison group (vc_recommendation_cohort_v3) across visits, while session storage records clicked listings (vc_recommendation_attribution, up to 100 entries, valid for 24 hours or until the tab session ends). This connects shelf impressions and clicks with favourites, bag additions and purchases, and compares personalised selection with newest arrivals. No reading-history profile is sent to analytics.

Your privacy: The interaction history is stored in your browser. For You sends an author/theme summary to our storefront in a private request. We do not sell it, share it with advertising networks, or use it for cross-site tracking. Use Reset reading taste on the homepage to delete local history, or clear your browser's site data. Resetting local history does not delete account orders or saved favourites.

For You checks the current bag and, when you are signed in, your accessible non-cancelled order history and saved favourites. Products linked to those orders and recognised editions of the same work are excluded unless you choose to include owned books. Current bag contents are always excluded; authors and themes help select other books. All Shelves shows the public catalogue without these exclusions. Switching to All Shelves stops personalised feed requests but does not delete local history.

You can change or withdraw analytics consent below. Your choice applies to this browser and device.

Personalised shelves: off

Optional and separate from analytics. For You remembers books and genres you explore in this browser for up to 90 days, and uses saved favourites and order history when signed in. Turning it off clears this browser's reading history and shelf preferences. Account favourites and orders are kept separately.
